Transitional Kindergarten
The Transitional Kindergarten Program will serve as a bridge between preschool and traditional kindergarten, offering age and developmentally-appropriate curriculum for our youngest students. Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year kinder program designed to give students additional time to develop stronger academic, social, and emotional skills necessary for future success. The classes are taught by credentialed teachers to promote a strong foundation for the student.
Transitional Kindergarten is an optional program and is offered free of charge to age-eligible children.
The Kindergarten Readiness Act of 2010 requires all California school districts to begin offering a Transitional Kindergarten program starting the 2012-2013 school year. The law also moves the eligibility dates for both kindergarten and transitional kindergarten.
The TK Program is open to children whose fifth birthday falls between September 2 - June 2 for the 2024-2025 school year.
We are currently offering the TK program at the following sites. Please check with Student Services for the upcoming school year.
